There have been some negative talk about the G1 Phone not being equipped for business users but some clever people at CompanionLink Software have grasped the whole open source idea for the G1 Phone which runs Google’s Android mobile operating system. They have developed a two-way synchronization solution for Microsoft Outlook and Google Android devices.
To get Microsoft Outlook contacts on their Google Android phone, users will need CompanionLink for Google Android. In addition to contacts, the software also synchronizes Microsoft Outlook calendar events, recurring appointments, tasks, and alarms and reminders with Google Android phones. The synchronization of data with the phones occurs wirelessly without any user intervention.
The app isn’t available on Google’s Android Market, but CompanionLink for Google Android is available from the company’s website for $29.95. More information about the solution can be found at companionlink.com/android.
Well done guys.

The phone that’s built for the internet, every time I write a new article about a G1 Phone app I think I’m going to start it with that sentence, I just hope people understand how mobile apps are going to change the mobile phone experience.
My first apps article for the G1 Phone is dedicated to mobile social networking and who other than MySpace to be the first to unveil an app that allows you to stay connected. Available through the Google’s Android Market. The killer app allows G1 Phone users to do anything that they would normally do from their own pc’s including upload pictures which have been taken by there own G1 Phone.
It looks like Facebook lovers will have to wait, let just hope that they bring something out by the time it hits the UK market on the 30th October.

The closer we get to the release date, the more we get to see. This can only mean more ways of getting your hands on a G1 phone early. With the official release date of the G1 Phone on 30th October 2008 this weekend alone has seen the release of a teaser advert in the national tabloid papers and the chance the win a G1 Phone everyday on the T-Mobile G1 phone website. The promotional game simply titled ‘The G1 game’ see a number of Google Map pins scattered across the UK, all you have to do is collect as many as possible in the alloted time frame, the more you get, the more time you’re allowed to keep searching. All you need to collect is 5 pins to enter the draw to win a G1 Phone everyday. A word of warning, this game is very addictive so watch out for the boss!
Oh, and you might want to turn the volume on your computer down too, although the music is hypontising!

It’s coming – or at least thats what it says on the new G1 phone advert that was released this weekend. It was only by chance that one of the guys at Android News managed to spot the new T-Mobile G1 with Google phone ad on page 37 of the ‘News of the World’.
The ad which measures 150mm wide x 250mm places the main headline, subhead and image of the G1 phone in a rectangular box with rounded corners and placed toward the bottom right of the advert itself. The lower half of the box carries T-Mobile’s trademark magenta colour. The headline states ‘It’s coming’ with the subtitle ‘T-Mobile G1 with Google’. ‘Available from 30/10/08′. Most of the ad is taken up by an image, this particular image is of two middle aged men standing on a hill just above a crowd of people. Everyone is looking out across a busy harbour. There is a large katamaran and cruise ship in view and directly above is a large super imposed Google Maps pin. Our guess is that we could be seeing a lot more of these ads showing different locations and scenarios. Watch this space.

T-Mobile have said that the T-Mobile G1 Phone will feature a range of exciting applications some of which will already be pre-loaded on your G1 Phone. To me this only means over excitement and confusion, I mean, what do you do when you take your new G1 Phone out of its box? Play with the pre installed apps and get experiment with the android operating system or get straight on the internet and head over to Google’s Android Market, the place wheret customers can find and download innovative applications from games and navigation tools to on-the-go shopping comparisons.
Following T-Mobiles announcement that the G1 Phone will now be released on 30th October 2008 (and not early November as previously expected), we have’nt got long to find out.

Since Google announced the birth of Android back in November 2007 Android News have been very suspicious of its true heritage due to his instant rise to fame. We therefore decided to trace back android’s ancestry only to reveal a host of familiar characters. We are slowly piecing back android’s bloodline but please feel free to comment on anyone who you may think is related!
Want to join in more android antics come and join our facebook group “We want the new Google phone” which was created by Ray Specs, thanks Ray!

T-Mobile’s new G1 Phone, the very first phone to operate on the much coveted Android Platform from Google is the talk of town, in fact lets rephrase that, it’s the talk of the globe! We all want one, but when can we get our hands on the G1 phone in the UK?
Everywhere we look there are news article galore about the G1 this and the G1 that, but why is it that everthing we read is always aimed at the US market? Ok so when it comes to release dates, we’re used to playing second fiddle to our friends across the atlantic, but that’s not the problem. It’s not that we need to know we can get a G1 before the US, we simply want to know when we can get one at all.
Well you may have seen already that pre orders for the G1 in the US have been and gone before many new about it, and those lucky enough to have got their order in can expect delivery on October 22. So far the only promises we have had for a UK release date for the G1 Phone is early November 2008, but we’ve heard from T-Mobile that we can expect a pre order window for the G1 phone to open in mid October.
Considering how quickly the US pre order window closed after opening, we’d suggest all of us who want to get our hands on the G1 phone on the day it gets released in the UK, and that is all of us, get our pre orders in the minute we see that window open.
Rest assured, the moment we hear T-Mobile are accepting pre orders for the G1, we will be covering it all over this website, and we’re quietly confident that will be the day that we get an official UK release date for the G1 phone.
